After the huge success of Scusa ma ti chiamo amore, Federico Moccia tells us more about Niki, its main character, in another novel dedicated to her and to the Niki that’s inside everyone of us.
Niki is a 17 year old girl, beautiful, intelligent and funny. She is a girl, but already a woman.
Niki and highschool, Niki and her friends, Niki and love, Niki and her whole world. Because Niki really does exist. Federico saw Niki by chance on Via del Corso, in Rome. She was walking along with her girlfriends. That day, Niki pulled the cellphone out of her jeans pocket and spent almost an hour arguing with her mother. Federico watched Niki and was inspired by her. He has often been back to Via del Corso, but hasn’t seen Niki since...
Sometimes it is difficult to understand a person, even if you know her well. If it’s a girl, then it’s even more than difficult and if you met this girl for just five minutes it’s almost impossible. But I’m sure, I captured something of her. In my novel Scusa ma ti chiamo amore I named this girl Niki. But who are you really, Niki? I have looked for you on the streets of Rome, sometimes I even chased a smile but it was never you. I know, my memory is clear, I remember your smile. When I saw you on Via del Corso, you looked at me for a second and your eyes told me a story I can’t forget.
I wanted to know more about you and so in the pages of this book I have tried to get into your head. So, one more thing. If I’ve understood you, let me know!
